When making our film opening, we must consider the audience when thinking of this. This is important because we will want our audience to want to watch more of the film. Factors that can effect the audience watching our film, are as follows:
- Audiences that can relate to the specific characters - within our film, the audience may be able to relate to the characters and what is going on in their lives within the film. This may influence them to watch our film because they are then interested to see how each individual characters life is working/what is going on in there's compared to the audience member watching it.
- Audience that like the genre (drama) -
- Certificate of the film - 15. If a new PG and a 15 comes out a 16 year old may sway towards the 15 because they feel like they can relate to it more.
By looking at recent films such as 'The Revenant', will help us to analyse as to what specifically made them so great. The reason as to why 'The Revenant' got so much accolade at the Oscars was because, it has two great well-known actors (Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy). So by having well-knwon actors within the film, then helped to attract a wider audience. In addition to this, it had a larger budget so it was able to afford a lot better equipment that may of attracted the audience once again.
