How we will organise props and costumes and what props we used.

When planning our props and costumes, we will need to take into consideration as to what our actors characters where on an everyday basis (single-mum and lawyer).

Costumes

Single Mum:

As you can see from these two images this is the sort of style will want our character of a single mum to wear. To organise this, we will want to speak to the actors first off to see if they have any items of this clothing. Once we have done this, we can then figure out if we need to get hold of/buy these costumes for our actor.
Luckily the actor that we had, already had this exact outfit so we didn't need to arrange to buy it for them.
















Lawyer:

 From these three images you can see that it is a smarter look as this is what we had interpreted what a lawyer would wear. As stated previously, we will speak to the other actor to see if they have something similar to this look. The reason we didn't decide what top to wear, is because we know that it wouldn't get seen in the clips the actor would be filmed in.

Props

We used a baby's bottle with milk in it at the start of our film opening to signify to the audience that the first protagonist that they saw was a mum. We had the bottle on the side and had a shot of the mum putting the lid on an picking it up.

We used a newspaper in to signify that the mum was job searching. In the opening, she is sitting at a table circling different jobs that she could apply for. We also used a house phone so that she could ring numbers from the newspaper to enquire about jobs.


We has bread and baked beans in our opening. This was what the mum made for her lunch. We have a shot of the mum putting bread into the toaster and then opening a tin of baked beans.

Later on in the opening, we used a plate. We put some of the baked bean juice and bread crumbs on the plate so that it looked like the mum was finished with her food. The shot that we used this in was when the mum puts the plate in the sink after eating.

In one shot we had toys scattered around the floor, the mum went and started picking the toys up, to put them away, tidying up after her daughter.

In one of the scenes with the business woman we used a pregnancy test, this was to signify that she thinks she pregnant.

We managed to get the baby bottle from a friend Jess as it was her baby that was in the film opening. We already had to plate, beans, bread, house phone and newspaper at home so we didn't have to purchase any of them. We bought the pregnancy test whilst we were filming the shots in town.
