Question 2) How does your media
product represent particular social groups?
Within our media product, the representation of
social groups is split up in to different categories ranging from: gender,
age and class.
The gender within our film opening is mainly female
orientated, personally I would say that this is stereotypical towards the genre
drama as going from other drama films you mainly see females dealing with most
problems in films. But within our film it could also be non-stereotypical as we
have no man in the film opening.
From this clip here, you can see that gender is
represented stereotypically as she is looking after the baby and she
seems very innocent.

This screen grab is from 'My Sisters Keeper', it isn't a very clear image but from this you can see once again that the mother is looking after her child.
The age within our film is mainly targeted towards a older teenager+ (15), this is because of the content that will be included within our film. This is different from 'My Sisters Keeper' because the age rating on this film is PG.
There are two different classes that are mostly obvious within our film, these are: Middle/Higher and Lower Class. The reason there are two included is because of the two different characters that are viewed in the beginning of our film (a lawyer and a single mum).
